游戏介绍：
      《地面控制2》的故事发生在一代的300年后，在25世纪爆发的第一次星际战争中，克莱文集团和他们在银河外旋臂的几个殖民行星失去了联系。到了2701年时，新兴的新人类帝国突然向这些孤立的殖民地发起了全面攻击，在兵临城下的危急关头，主星Morningstar上的12个城邦迅速结成了北方星系同盟，在共同的领导下抵抗帝国的侵略。

　　虽然北方星系同盟成功地抵挡了帝国的第一波攻势，但是这并不意味着战争已经结束，后续的29年里漫长残酷的战争一直没有停止。最终，帝国凭借强大的实力压倒了对手，在2730年决定性的战斗中，北方星系同盟折损了他们最后的舰队，完全丧失了空间战斗能力。接着的一个月里，人类帝国无视任何和谈或是投降的请求，对行星进行了毁灭性的轨道轰炸。Morningstar的大部分居民都在轰炸中丧生，只有一些大城市利用能量护盾幸免于难。而后战争就进入了一个僵持的状态，帝国无法穿过能量护盾消灭北方星际联盟的最后残余，而联盟也无力进行反击，被自己的护盾困在几个城市里。虽然看上去帝国的胜利只是个时间问题，但是联盟却依然有着一个最后的希望……

　　在游戏中你可以任意地调节你的视角，用传统的上视角（或者说“上帝之眼”）来掌控全局，或是一直向前推到“士兵之眼”去体验激烈的战斗。在游戏中你可看到各个物件的模型都有着极高的精度，复杂的双足式机甲、带脚架的机枪、狙击兵们头戴式的瞄准装置都被准确细致地刻画出来。而同时准确的配色与细致的贴图又使游戏科幻味十足的世界更具现实感。

　　《地面控制2》将包括四种不同的地形，遍布细碎湖泊与密林的热带星球，被橙红色沙石覆盖的荒漠，庞大都市的废墟以及月球一般的岩石行星。游戏中的动态效果十分华丽，而同时对场景细致地刻画——随风摇曳的树木，波光粼粼的水面，文字清晰可辨的广告牌等等——又大大增进了游戏的气氛。在一段游戏引擎实时生成的动画中，环境的真实感给人留下了深刻的印象：闪电照亮乌云密布的天空，瓢泼大雨从天而降，甚至还可以清楚地看到强风吹起一道道雨幕。

　　你会发现游戏中精细的画面并不只是让人“看着爽”而已，实际上很多的细节都是和战斗紧密相关的。在战斗中坦克车长可以探头到炮塔外，这可以让火炮打得更加准确，但同时也让他处于一个很危险的状态。在下令士兵占领一座建筑之后，拉近视角便可看到他们隐蔽在窗口后警戒四周（他们也可以隐藏在树林里），这种以往只在《近距离作战》之类游戏中出现的写实风格令人感到《地面控制2》将会是一个非常“专业”的即时战略游戏。

　　就发布会上公布的版本来看，《地面控制2》最多可支持8人联机对战，对于在《魔兽争霸》里玩惯了5v5、6v6的玩家来说，8个人的上限显得小了些。不过《地面控制2》很棒的一个设计是，地图就如同一个开放的房间，玩家无论什么时候都可以加入战场。这种类似死亡竞赛式的游戏方式还是头一次应用在即时战略上，不知这会给RTS今后的发展带来些什么样的变化。
